Rick Fair Singing Bass for Southern Sound Quartet

  • 11 August 2010

I was pleased this week to hear about Rick Fair joining Southern Sound Quartet. My first introduction to him was when he was with the Palmetto State Quartet. I had not paid attention to them since the Harold Gilley/Brion Carter days but, when I heard Rick, I began to take notice. There was one song they sang at the time that, at times, I couldn’t tell if it were Rick or Aaron McCune (the bass singer at the time) so it doesn’t surprise me that Southern Sound hired him as a bass. I’ve no doubt he will be a fine one.

Words can not express the excitement and blessing that I received when I heard of Rick Fair’s acceptance to the Southern Sound Quartet. I have known Rick for a year or so here in Sevierville, Tn. I meet Rick
through the Blackwood Singers Variety Breakfest Show, at the Black Bear Jamboree in Piegon Forge, TN. Rick was their bass singer.

I know Rick as a Christian with God at the center of his life. He is a man of prayer and dedication to the Lord. He loves people and wants to see all come to the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God’s continual blessings on the Southern Sound Quartet and Rick Fair as their new bass singer.

Thank you for your insights. I’m looking forward to hearing Rick with Southern Sound and it blesses me to know that His walk with God is solid since that is what’s most important. A song is empty without the Spirit behind the message.

Rick Fair is one fine bass/baritone singer. When he sings the “How Big is God” medley, he reminds me so much of Big John Hall when he was in his prime. Love your music Rick, and I’m waiting for a solo project soon.
